I tested protonvpn-gui locally on x86_64 glibc. It builds sucessfully but does not show up in app launchers.

The upstream of protonvpn-gui already has the desktop file and icon, so you could add something like:

post_install() {
    vinstall rpmbuild/SOURCES/proton.vpn.app.gtk.desktop 644 usr/share/applications
    vinstall rpmbuild/SOURCES/proton-vpn-logo.svg 644 usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps
}

After rebuilding with this fix it shows up in my app launcher.
